Solihull Police Station threatened by Labour PCCs politically-motivated decisions

Following claims by the Labour PCC that officer jobs are under threat if police stations remain open, below is a statement from Jay Singh-Sohal, (former West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner candidate, 2019-21) to the Solihull Observer in full:

“Solihull police station does not threaten the frontline but rather the PCCs own politically-motivated decisions. He has a record £743 million from government and council taxpayers (plus tens of millions more in reserves), and a centrally-funded uplift programme that has seen several hundred more officers recruited. Despite this, on Mr Foster’s watch an additional 1,003 crimes were recorded in the borough last year compared to 2021, when he came to office. He is not fighting for our residents but rather focused on Labour-held Birmingham where he has refurbished and reopened police stations. And now has spent undisclosed amounts fighting to save his £100k job at the High Court. Solihull residents’ are poorly served by this Birmingham-centric PCC and deserve a local champion and better approach to get crime down.”
